Hi, have been busy, not had a chance to blog lately. have still managed to get some drawing done since I was last blogging.
Have completed a drawing for the local museum, one of the rooms from above, in perspective. Pleased with the results, will be displayed at the museum shortly.
Also been doing some local sketching, putting together an exhibition for local artists and started a new art class at the museum.
Will hopefully have some more work to put on here shortly.

Drawn objects

Thought I would put some fresh drawings on the blog today as your probably getting tired of looking at the same old ones. I have included two that I drew from objects at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge a little while ago.

First picture is of the objects on the shelf, second picture is 'Umm.... how did that get in my pocket!', obviously I didn't really put it in my pocket just made it up for a little story, but like the finished drawing, put a red watercolour wash over the jacket when I'd finished.

This sort of drawing is quite time consuming but the results quite satisfying. At the moment my Wisbech Museum drawings are just working drawings, as in rough sketches but I will be doing drawing like this of some of the objects in the Townsend room.

I have been drawing at the Wisbech and Fenland Museum today. Wo what a place, so much in one room, information, pictures, objects, statues, ornaments, plates, paintings and more. Even the cabinets are a collection in themselves. And there are at least two other big rooms to look around.
A bit nervous at first but soon got into the swing of it. Got three drawings done in a couple of hours, not too bad. Hoping to exhibit the work at the museum when I'm finished, the working drawings and the finished piece.... pieces!!! not sure yet.

Got a plethora of ideas buzzing around my head for some drawings at the moment, sometime I get a rush of ideas that I cant keep up with.
I have also been in touch with Fenland Arts, very helpful, about getting my art group and my art lessons in Wisbech advertised. So hopefully alot of people will get to know about these events.

Today I have been designing an advert to go into the Artists and Illustrators Magazine next month. I am advertising as an artist, illustrator, tutor and workshop demonstrator, all for drawing, trying to get my name about as now I feel I have reached a stage in my life where my work is accomplished enough. As an artist you battle with yourself all the time to create work that is saying all it can about you, your experiences and your outlook on life.

I have just read through a couple of current magazines on modern painters, I am now sat here baffled and bemused and realise just how far away I am from this high maintenance world of art. Will I ever make money from my art work - a living - or am I deluding myself!! There are some just brilliant artists out there, but there are some out there that are just brilliant business men and women.

I say just keep drawing and drawing, be enthusiastic about what you do, have some passion about it, keep on pushing to do a little better all the time, what you get out of it is solely down to you.

Today I am trying to sort out several ways of getting my art group advertised, on the internet and in the local paper, on the internet there are so many options, advertising as a tutor and as an art group/club.
